President's Blocks

As is tradition in ACQ, we like to send our President off with blocks to create a quilt commemorating their time as ACQ president. As Jen told us she would like to create a red and white sampler quilt with blocks from members. In order to ensure that the blocks fit together, we are asking you adhere to the following perimeters:

As is tradition in ACQ, we like to send our President off with blocks to create a quilt commemorating their time as ACQ president. As Jen Dietz finalizes her 2 year stint as our President, join us in thanking her for her hard work, dedication and overall awesomeness. Jen told us she would like to create a red and white sampler quilt with blocks from members. In order to ensure that the blocks fit together, we are asking you adhere to the following perimeters:

  • Blocks can be made out of any combination of red and white.  This can be solids, tone on tone, prints or batiks. Quilter's choice!

  • Blocks should measure either 6.5 inches or 12.5 inches - so that they will finish in the quilt at 6 or 12 inches.

  • Please include your name somewhere within your block so it is permanent - Micron pen, embroidery or other personal touch.

  • Please bring your block to the in-person BYOB on  December 8, 2022 or contact Barb Pond to make other arrangements.

Open opportunity in 2023

Newsletter Editor - ACQ still needs a newsletter editor for 2023. For many of our members, the ACQ closed Facebook group is the preferred method of getting the latest and greatest ACQ news but only about half of our members have joined that Facebook group. The newsletter is a very important communication method for the other half of our membership. Additionally, certain announcements are required by our Bylaws to be made in the Newsletter.

The #1 skill required is a desire to get more involved by stepping up for a 12 month commitment to ACQ. Everything else can be learned by following past examples & learning a few key elements of the webpage software ACQ uses. But if you have a burning desire to revamp the whole process, I'm sure that's an option too.  :)

Reach out to a Board member for more information before ACQ encounters a month without a newsletter.
