Get Your Curve on . . . Online.
Commit one step at a time, as you explore improv process and composition. Learn ruler-free, wedge-curve, and bias-strip piecing on the curve improv techniques.
Our Wedge Curve Improv Workshop with Sherri Lynn Wood is going through its own improvisation. Sherri is excited to partner with ACQ to host her first live-stream online workshop. Registered participants will receive access to a resource page on Sherri's website with with everything they need to know to access the online workshop.
During the first three hours of the workshop each day, you will be able to brainstorm and interact with Sherri as she demonstrates template-free curve piecing techniques and the improvisational process. There will be another optional two hours of free sewing each day if you want to stay online and interact directly with Sherri and other students as you sew.
Plus you'll have full access to your fabric stash instead of wishing you'd brought it with you. Following the workshop all participants will be able to access a recording of the live-stream sewing demos for an additional two weeks in case you missed something or want a replay.
Invite Sherri into your sewing space and spend two days with her and ACQ on April 17-18.
Sherri Lynn Wood has been improvising quilts as a creative life practice for 30 years, and is considered a master at her craft. Her best selling publication The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters: A Guide to Creating, Quilting & Living Courageously (Abrams, 2015) provides scores, or frameworks, for flexible patterns and creative exploration, along with practical instruction in stitching techniques and color theory.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Modern quilters probably all know Sherri's name and her teaching methods and theory about improv quilts. She was the featured instructor at QuiltCon in 2019. Cindy, ACQ's VP Programs 2020, saw her tape The Quilt Show and learned of her healing social work practices—this makes her work and improv practices even more meaningful. Those who get into her 2-day workshop will be very lucky.
