Making Faces with Lea McComas

Lea’s portrait quilts have won international recognition. Discover the influences of history and culture that inspire her pictorial quilts. She will share information about principles of composition, the geometry of faces, and how value, color and temperature work together to create realistic pictorial quilts, as well as a brief overview of her techniques for fused applique and thread painting. 

Doors open at 6:20 and the meeting begins at 6:50. 

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Lea is a fiber artist from Golden, CO. Lea's magnificent piece called "The Long Goodbye" demonstrates how she captures emotions, feelings and human beauty in her portrait work. This touching piece won the Masters Award for Thread Artistry at IQF Houston 2019. We are very fortunate to have her share her work and talents with us in February. Don't miss this fabulous program.
