Behind the Seams with Peter Byrne

Peter Byrne is an award-winning modern quilter and teacher with a deep passion for innovation and design. He loves making quilts, and he love teaching others to quilt. He is known for taking a fresh approach to quilt construction and design, combined with technical mastery. He'll be treating ACQ to a trunk show.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

After 30 years working as a stylist and salon owner he retired, and then had the time to explore new creative outlets. He bought a sewing machine, and quilting quickly became his passion and his community. His thread of choice is Aurifil 50 weight, and he uses this in all of his quilting. In 2017, He joined the Toronto Modern Quilt Guild to expand his quilting experience, and in 2018 he taught quilting at a local sewing school in Toronto.  His students describe him as being positive, caring, knowledgeable and well-organized, but most of all an incredibly patient teacher.
