ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR - KATE COLLERAN
Seams Like a Dream Quilt Designs started in 2003, a collaboration between myself and Elizabeth Balderrama. I did the designs and Elizabeth did consultations, pattern testing and was the shipping maven. She kept me on track and in check! My daughter Alyssa has always been our consultant for color and style and our booth babe at Quilt Market! In 2012, my husband and I moved from our hometown in Connecticut to Colorado and I decided to take a break from my other profession, nursing, which I had done for over 30 years. What a great few years it has been with lots of new patterns, quilts in magazines, a Craftsy class and the book, Smash Your Precut Stash with C&T Publishing. Then, in late 2015 I became the sole owner of the business. Elizabeth retired but luckily for me, Alyssa occasionally still consults and comes to Quilt Market when she can. Her jobs at an organic farm and at a local quilt shop keep her pretty busy. From day 1, our goal was to help you make a quilt. And to have fun. And my goal is unchanged. To me quilting is about creating, about learning and having fun and about community.
