Modern Dresden: Five Different Finishes with Candace Grisham
A modern update for making a variety of Dresden plate designs using a single template. The class will cover 5 different variations of edge finishes. The size and design variations are endless! You will learn to sew the plates by machine and mix and match your edge finishes. Designed to be a technique class, you will determine how many plates and what sizes, finishes and layout you desire.
In class, we will cover the basic Dresden block and then some of the Dresden 201 blocks which allow for creative piecing. You can start with a background (40"x40") of your choice (pieced or solid) or wait until your blocks are made.
It will be tons of creative fun and easy for all from confident beginner and up. Bring your willingness to be creative and to step outside the box! There will be class time for sewing, but since the workshop is in two parts, there will be plenty of time in between to play with your designs and do more sewing.
Hurry and reserve your spot. This will be a fun and exciting workshop!
There will be a 6-week follow-up Show & Tell on February 26th.
Be sure to read through the Supply List and related documents and order any necessary online items early to receive them before class date.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
I am a quilt designer, speaker and teacher.
I love using fabrics, themes and colors from nature, but also lean more and more to bright fabrics with prints. Many of my works have a “traditional with a twist” quality. I rely on inspirations from generations gone by and put a contemporary feel to my designs.
I dabble in fiber art, challenges, machine quilting and modern quilting.
I have taught quilting for more than twenty years and love and teaching and exploring with students as much as the creating. I have been lucky to have quilts and fiber art pieces juried into shows with Missouri Fiber Artists, the American Quilter’s Society in Kentucky and the International Quilt Association in Houston as well as many local and regional shows and displays.
