Get ready for a whirlwind of stitches! In this high-energy event, participants race to transform a pre-cut jelly roll into a stunning quilt top for charity. The process is simple but thrilling: sew all the strips end-to-end into one long strip (about 1,600 inches!), fold it in half, and keep sewing and folding until a quilt top emerges.
This Jelly Roll Race is all about speed, spontaneity, and surprise - you will be “racing” against the clock and one another to finish a quilt top. In order to keep it fair, all participants will be given a pre-cut jelly roll and we will all start at the same time (regardless of time zone) - as the event will be simulcast on Zoom and in-person. Quilt tops may be donated to charity in order to start off our annual giving campaign at a fast pace. And, as an incentive, there will be prizes!
Perfect for beginners and seasoned quilters alike, the Jelly Roll Race is a joyful celebration of fabric, friendship, and fast stitching! No two quilts turn out the same, and the results are always dazzling.
Fill up your bobbins, change out your needles, bring your sewing machine, scissors, and a great attitude. Ready, set, RACE!
