“Not everyone answers the call to serve our country. It is those rare individuals who are selfless enough to sacrifice so much so we can all enjoy the freedom we have. We’ll never know exactly what each Veteran experiences and how they are touched by war. But we can welcome our Veterans home, support them and their families, and thank them for their service whenever possible.”
Lori Thompson - Executive Director 2021 - Present
Learn more about this national grassroots movement where quilters create and award over 30,000 Quilts of Valor a year to veterans and active-duty service members. Quilts of Valor provide comfort and healing to those who have served and been touched by war. We'll share more about what a Quilt of Valor is, the inspiration behind the movement, and ways quilters can become involved to honor service members and veterans in our community.
What is a Quilt of Valor?
A Quilt of Valor® (QOV) is a quality, handmade quilt that is machine or hand quilted and is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war.
To use the term Quilt of Valor, Quilts of Valor or QOV, the quilt must be a specific size, must have a label with required information, it must be awarded (it is not a gift) and it must be recorded.
